  1. GDPs of the countries X and Y have grown over the past five years at compounded annual rate of 5% and 6% respectively.
  2. Five years ago, GDP of country X was higher than that of country Y.

Answer & solution

Correct answer: 4

  • A

    1

  • B

    2

  • C

    3

  • 4

Solution

Statement A does not give us the actual values of their GDPs 5 years ago.

Using statement B alone:

We know that GDP of country X is greater than that of Y but we do not know by how much it is greater.

Even after combining both the statements the question cannot be answered.

Hence, option (d).
