CAT College Predictor

Enter your CAT percentile, category and (optionally) your sectional percentiles to see which IIMs and top B-schools you're definitely clearing, which are a maybe, and which are unlikely. Cutoffs are indicative figures from past shortlist trends — a planning aid, not a guarantee. Based on 2024 cutoffs.

Sectional percentiles (optional, improves accuracy)

Indicative estimate only, based on public approximate data for recent CAT cycles. Actual percentiles and cutoffs vary every year with difficulty, normalisation, category, and each institute’s process. Always confirm with official sources.

How the prediction works

We compare your (category-adjusted) percentile against each B-school's typical General-category shortlist cutoff. Schools you clear are shown as a likely shortlist; those within about 2 percentile points are flagged as stretch picks. The CAT percentile is only the first stage — final admission also weighs your academics, work experience, and WAT/GD/PI.

FAQs

Which IIM can I get with a 95 percentile in CAT?
A 95 percentile (General) is typically in range for several newer IIMs and strong non-IIM B-schools, and borderline for some older IIMs depending on profile and category. Use the predictor above for an indicative list.
Does the CAT college predictor account for category and sectionals?
Yes — pick your reservation category (General/EWS/NC-OBC/SC/ST) to compare against that category’s cutoffs, and enter your sectional percentiles too: many B-schools require both an overall and per-section minimum, so the predictor checks all of them.
Are these B-school cutoffs official?
No. They are indicative figures from past shortlist trends, meant for planning. IIMs also weigh academics, work experience, diversity, WAT/GD and interview — the CAT percentile is only the first filter.
